Alluvionic Project Management Training
Alluvionic provides project management (PM) classroom training for both public attendance and for private dedicated classes at our clients’ facilities. Our training is live and in-person which provides a level of engagement and learning unmatched by web-based or other methods of delivery. Our PM courses are based on the model of project management defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI)® and documented in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)®, sixth edition. All our instructors hold Project Management Professional (PMP)® credentials and have at least 10 years of project management experience. Two of our instructors also teach project management at the university level. We currently offer three courses, all of which provide Professional Development Unit (PDU) credits for registered PMI® members seeking to earn or maintain their PMI® credentials.
Project Management Essentials
PM Essentials is a one-day lecture style course covering the essentials of professional project management. All five process groups of the PMI® model (project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, and closing) are covered at a high level, including the most important terms, tools, and techniques. This course is intended for individuals with no project management experience, or for a group of individuals from multiple functions who plan to work together as a project team. A class workbook is provided. (8 PDUs)
Project Management Fundamentals
PM Fundamentals is a two-day course involving both classroom lecture and hands-on exercises with the tools and techniques of project management. In addition to covering the five PMI® process groups, each student will develop a project charter, project plan, project schedule, risk management plan, and other PM artifacts for a personal project of their choosing. This course is intended for individuals with some project management experience who wish to advance their skills or learn the PMI® way of doing things. A class workbook, PMBOK® textbook, and USB drive with tools and exercises are provided. (16 PDUs)
A third day may be added to this course to provide exam preparation for students wishing to sit for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® or Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification examinations. Exam preparation includes access to our on-line practice test platform for 90 days after the completion of the course for continued preparation. (8 PDUs)
Project Management Professional (PMP)® Bootcamp
This full four-day “bootcamp” course provides the most thorough and comprehensive coverage of project management according the PMI® model. All PMI® process groups are covered in-depth, additional hands-on exercises for each student’s personal project are used, and examination preparation includes taking a full PMP® examination. This course is intended for experienced project managers who plan to sit for the PMP® examination soon after the completion of the course.
