Brevard Achievement Center (BAC), a nonprofit that helps people with disabilities through job training, employment, and community programs, wanted to improve how they work and grow their business by earning ISO 9001:2015 certification. But setting up a full Quality Management System (QMS) was a big task, especially while keeping up with daily work. To help, BAC turned to Alluvionic, a trusted partner they had worked with before. Alluvionic had earned ISO certification themselves and were known not only for their consulting skills but also for their commitment to supporting small businesses and nonprofits like BAC.
The effort began with a comprehensive gap analysis. Alluvionic’s team collaborated with BAC’s leadership and staff to evaluate current documentation, conduct interviews, and assess procedures against ISO 9001:2015 requirements. The findings revealed that while BAC understood the value of ISO certification, several core elements such as risk analysis, management review, and process documentation were only informally practiced and not yet embedded into daily operations. Encouraged by the actionable insights and clear path forward, BAC committed to continuing with Alluvionic for full ISO implementation.
Alluvionic then developed a structured project plan tailored to BAC’s needs. The plan guided the creation of a documented quality policy and measurable objectives, the mapping of key processes, and the development of a formal documentation framework. Employees received targeted training to build awareness and capability across the organization. Alluvionic also implemented the Plan-Do-Check-Act model to promote continuous improvement. Internal audits, management reviews, and mock certification sessions prepared BAC’s team for the final audit while fostering ownership and confidence in their quality practices.
BAC successfully completed the ISO 9001:2015 Phase 2 audit, earning certification and solidifying its commitment to quality. Throughout the process, BAC’s team became increasingly confident and self-reliant, contributing more actively during audits and demonstrating a deeper understanding of their roles within the QMS. The organization emerged from the experience not only certified but equipped with the tools and mindset for long-term success.
“In addition to helping us with ISO 9001, Alluvionic supported us in securing AS9100 certification—which is significantly more demanding. We couldn’t have asked for a better team,” said Crystal Fuller, Production and Logistics Director. BAC’s collaboration with Alluvionic showcases how structured support, hands-on guidance, and clear communication can turn a complex certification process into a strategic advantage. With a fully implemented QMS and a stronger internal culture of quality, BAC is now well-positioned to sustain compliance, improve operations, and pursue new opportunities with confidence.
