Alluvionic Continues Commitment to the Success of Veterans

Success of Veterans

Melbourne, Fla. (November 8, 2021) – Alluvionic, Inc., a local project management, process improvement, cybersecurity and product development services firm, is celebrating several milestones this month in the company’s continued commitment to the success of veterans, including two years as an authorized Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Partner Organization.

As an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner, Alluvionic provides an opportunity for servicemembers to complete an internship during the last 180 days of service to gain valuable civilian career experience. Since the announcement in 2019 that the company became the 84th employer partner to establish a MOU with the DoD, Alluvionic has successfully assisted with the transition of 5 servicemembers with this 180-day internship.

Alluvionic SkillBridge intern, Diana Tamayo, PMP, who is currently 90 days into her internship has received valuable hands-on experience.

Alluvionic has given me the opportunity to gain extremely valuable civilian work experience through the DoD SkillBridge program,” said Tamayo. “Being a part of the Alluvionic family has provided skillful hands-on project management experience in the civilian sector, making me a more well-rounded veteran for career opportunities. I have been offered and accepted a full-time position at Alluvionic and look forward to working with both civilians and veterans at one of the best places to work!”

“At Alluvionic, we hold our veterans in high esteem. As the daughter of an Army veteran, I fully understand and appreciate the values and commitment exemplified by our men and women in uniform,” said Alluvionic founder, President and CEO Wendy Romeu. “Many Alluvionic employees have spouses, children, parents, and relatives who are members of the armed forces. Our team is humbled by their dedication to serve, and we thank them every day for their sacrifice.”

“Not only is supporting and participating in DoD SkillBridge the right thing to do for Space Coast employers, but it gives our community an advantage in the competition for skilled talent,” said Lynda Weatherman, president and CEO of the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast and Veterans Florida Board Member. “I applaud Alluvionic for their commitment to transitioning servicemembers and for being ahead of the curve when it comes to utilizing this important program.”

In addition to its commitment to transitioning service members, Alluvionic prioritizes hiring veterans to work in the Alluvionic family, with over 25% of its current workforce comprised of veterans. The company is also actively focused on ongoing veteran talent recruitment through the Hiring Our Heroes professional network. Alluvionic recently added Veterans Day as a paid holiday to honor those who served and hosts a happy hour for veteran staff. On December 18 of this year, the company will execute a mission to remember, honor and teach by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery through Wreaths Across America (WAA) Day.

“It feels good to give of your time and compassion,” said Alluvionic Wreaths Across America Team Coordinator and VP of Program Management and Process Improvement, Alec Hall. “My family began supporting WAA back in 2013, and Alluvionic team members have participated every year since 2019.”
